'Shaka' tide clock

2024

Living in Tāmaki Makaurau creates a special choice when heading to the beach - which coast?

The tide cycle on the west coast is 2 hours and 15 minutes behind the east, or roughly the angle between the pinky and the thumb in the classic Hawaiian shaka.

Introducing the Shaka tide clock, a limited edition product release from Clark Bardsley Design. When the thumb is at the top its high tide at Piha, when the pinky is at the top, its high tide at Long Bay.
